Oct 08, 2020No, they are not. Since the original language in which the bible was written was Greek, it borrows a lot from Greek conceptions. What the Greeks called Ethiopia was any nation below Egypt predominantly occupied by black people. This is similar to what the Arabs called Bilad al Sudan.

And the Roman Empire was a very large empire which included vast areas of western Europe, Eastern Europe and the Middle east.......but its current successor might be taken as Italy but this by no means exclude the others Similarily "The Ethiopia" expressed in the scripture generally means a large state that occupies most of Africa southern to Egypt and some parts of Arabia.........but the direct sucessor of that state today can be seen as the present day Ethiopia,Eritrea and parts of Sudan but this doesn't exclude the other nations So techinically what is reffered in the Bible as Ethiopia is present day Ethiopia and Eritrea among others.
