The cause is multi-factorial. If I have to summarize it I will say, the very competitive environment is driving the youth insane. I also would love to add addiction as another reason. The effect... well it's a disease, so the well being of that particular person is endangered to the level of suicide. And as a country, the youth will become less productive.

I think the young generation is led by the older ones who occupied all the important position. And the youths want to be free and live a crazy life which is incompatible with the older generation. Being in a state that u are not living as u wanted makes u sad and then depressed.

Yea some are depressed, some are bore to death.. because of religions, and ethinicity and allll.... u knw

IMO yess it is The reason is mostly not having any one to talk to specially families and friends are not that understanding when it comes to depression
