Today's Ethiopia is becoming more brittle by the day. Intolerant of other ideas and identities by the day, incapable of dealing with the truth of a multinational polity. This brittleness will cost it. The idea of 'secession' when it comes to Oromia means the Ethiopian state will cease to exist. If Oromia becomes an independent republic, it is likely all the other regions will go their own ways. Take a look at a map to know why.
As to what we want, we don't want this Ethiopian state. So, if the government along with a historically vocal urban population choose to go down this road, Ethiopia will be no more for we would rather be independent than be a part of an Ethiopia hell bent on dismantling Oromia and Oromummaa.
We would prefer it if the idiots calling themselves leaders chose to see the light and found a compromise out of it since we do share a lot of things with other Ethiopians, but that is up to them. Our position is clear.
