Yea go to any independent labs and ask for Uric acid test and if it's >6 you are at risk for gout so u shud limit your diet in taking high protein foods like egg, yeberre siga, shiro only shimbra shiro, misir metew yinorbinal and also start the medication as directed by ur physicians and the name is Allopurinol

Uric acid test is perform to diagnose gout arthritis but as you mentioned the pain is around the knee, this is uncommone site for gout arthritis. Gouty arthritis useally occure around ancle joint and big toe... pain in the knee have different etiology including synovitis, giant cell tumor... so i suggest you should see doctor for further diagnosis
