though i see what the others mean by Gods plan and agree, i also believe that there is a scientific answer here that doesn't necessarily need to clash with the former idea. i think our low death rate has to do with our genetic difference from the European and Asian populations. you see viruses need the infected persons proteins to attach to cells and to function normally. and the amount and type of proteins produced in human beings are determined by their genetic inheritance and to some degree environmental exposures. so if Africans have proteins even slightly different from Europeans and Asians and if the African proteins are less suited to the viruses mechanisms, it is obvious that the disease will not be as severe in Africans. you can see this because even in infected people there are much more people that are symptomatic in non-African regions than in africa. this may be an indication that the virus is less effective in the African population at all stages of the disease, most likely in my opinion due to a fundamentally incompatible protein variety found in Africans and ethiopians. a younger population and warm climate may also help.
