As someone who used to be an Electrical and computer engineering student at AAU and dropped out later...it easy really hard to do well academically and mentally if you are not obsessed with the field and the job opportunity is hopeless in any field of engineering except may be software but even for that you have to work extra hard...so i suggest if you have other interests and could the potential to be fruitful...i say go for them rather than wasting your time and regretting it...i have so many friends who graduated with good grades but still couldn't land a job
