I was in the same situation before 6years one mistake I was done is that I think everyone is thinking about me and that’s make me nervous and I was always hide in my dorm. Lose interest about cafe,library,lounge and everywhere One thing I want to tell u no one cares on porpoise about ur situation Everyone has there own problem and they are focusing on themselves so be confident to do whatever u want to do. If u doubt u can see some social experiments on YouTube The next thing is increasing ur exposure be available at shops, lounge coffee area and try to share sit in the cafe with people’s who sit alone. But obviously to know someone the perfect place is ur dorm and ur class room
