Oct 07, 2023It's a very good start that you are not being arrogant and are looking for evidences, 'put ideas into test and hang onto the ones that pass the test wherever they lead you and leave those that fail behind' There are so many things that keep me an absolute believer and even a theist I dunno if you know this but it's amazing how much narration and stories the Qur'an and the Bible share having significant differences at the same time. One of the many reasons that contribute to my being a Muslim and even a theist is that the Qur'an doesn't falsify the previous scriptures instead it says that it's sent to confirm the previous scriptures like Torah and The Bible (injeel) which were also some of the devine revelations of Allah (sw), and amazingly the bible says the same thing about Torah in a very similar way to the Qur'an. Jesus (pbuh) said in the bible “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (Torah) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" Matthew 5:17 "He has sent down upon you, [O Muḥammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel" Qur'an 3:3 "And We sent, following in their footsteps,[1] Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous." Qur'an 5:46 The Qur'an says that Allah has been checking on humans since the time of the first human on earth, frequently sending prophets and scriptures so that they don't go stray and forget their purpose of existance. The most convincing part for me is that all those scriptures and prophets prophesized what's to come after them if they go (the description of the prophets that are to come after them), the most significant prophecies for me are the ones that are in Hindu scriptures about prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also entailing that the hindu scriptures were also remnants of past revelations from God just like The Bible and the Torah. I like reading some stories from the Bible that complement the ones in The Qur'an which are shortened for the sake of relevance. All religions claim to have started at some point, which usually are the time when they deviated from the original religion as a result of distortion of the message with the passage and lengthening of time without sending a messenger. Islam stands out in this aspect as well since it claims that it has always been there since the down of the first two humans (Adam and Hawa). The longest stage in believing in the right God is just believing there's one and i guess the option is pretty much narrowed down when it comes to choosing the right religion. U are welcome to DM me for further discussions U can keep the discussion here if u want to do it openly as i want it delivered to a bigger mass as well.
