Its a dynamically typed scripting language with OOP features and it gets interpreted as opposed to being compiled. It means it has runtime type identification mechanism and also it gets executed statement/block after statement/block instead of being compiled into a chunk of machine code like C++ or Java. If you have prior knowledge and experience in programming and you understood what I talked about check out the official documentation on the python webpage for syntax and semantic. But if you got confused and none of what I said makes sense then start with a beginners books. I recommend "Head First Python" or "Starting out with Python by Tonny Gaddis". For these and other related books go to www.allitebooks.com or gen.lib.rus.ec
