Like u said he might be emotionally dependent, ofc that's no excuse for his actions but try to not let it get to u. Listen but don't meditate it. At the end he is ur father nd as long as what he talks is not bitter, don't act like ur intersted or involved height not hv someone to tell all this stuff. And if it's too much to handle avoid these one on one situations.
