Well this is a deep question and your analysis is correct. But you must not forget that we as humans are neither pure nor perfect. Dont forget that the bible is in peoples hands now. God is not in control of that so the people that want to promote evil can just add or subtract things from the bible as seen in recent times and all i can say is dont go with the crowd in religion, do your research and find God on your own and you will find peace and happiness.

It is not all about going to church or being thought about good things. We are human, no matter how much we try to be good, we cant succeed. Bcoz we are humans, and humans make mistakes and we humans have bad sides in us. And when this bad side gets the better of the good side in us, the things u mention in ur question will happen. It is not because the God we worship is the devil, it is because we don't have full faith in him. The things most religions teach have one thing in common, which is to be a good person. So as long as this is the teaching, there wont be any issue with the religion. The issue is with us. And for the religion's teaching to be effective, we should have a complete(strong) faith in our God. Just believe in him, when u do this, u will go according to the religion's teachings. And when we this happens, bad thing will decrease dramatically.
