I agree about killua, that he is as good as u said. But i disagree about gon. He is not weak and pathetic. I mean he is just a 12 years old boy and he is working with adults hand in hand, so he is doing smth extraordinary, more than a kid on his age can do. And to be a mc, it is not always about physical power or being 'perfect', it is also about the will power of the character. So He is not weak in any way. It is just age barrier(u saw what he did to neferpitou after he changed to adult gon). But i agree than killua is better than him in some ways but not in all ways. The main reason other characters look up to gon is that he is someone who will do anything of his friends. And he don't give up on anything he want to achieve. Those qualities of him attract pple to him and motivate them to do good things like him. And about selflessness, gon is also selfless, i mean who would sacrifice their life to get revenge for their friend? So he is an ideal cool mc. In my opinion if u want an actual weak and pathetic mc in terms physique, watch Tokyo revenge.
