Gather round, fellow men and women, and hearken to me. Though we hail from different tribes and worship the Creator in diverse ways, I believe in my heart we can dwell together in this blessed land as one people. For what brings us together is greater than what drives us apart. Are we not all children of Ethiopia, nourished by her soil and sheltered under her skies? Do we not share the same hopes and dreams for our families? Peace and prosperity for all?
Aug 12, 2023We are but it hardly matters. It's an irrelevant metaphor that holds no weight in reality. It offers no solution nor does it provide new insight. Enjima we could have united the world by substituting "Ethiopia" with "the earth" in that question. Don't neglect that power is the currency of the world, not sovereignty. We do not. Even the "for our families" part assumes all of us prioritize family. We don't. At least not all of us. In reality, hopes and dreams are achieved in priority. Hardly anyone prioritizes family over themselves nor do they get to achieve any dreams. Survival motivates more people than dreams. Nice hope. But I fail to see its importance unless all citizens have the same mindset as you
