Social media and, mainly, the enervate of masculinity have contributed to the outlandish ritual of woman expression. Don't mistake this to mean women's beauty wasn't glorified in medieval times. Figures like Cleopatra or even depictions of ancient goddesses magnify their womanhood.
But that is the difference. Beauty, until the reasons I mentioned, expressed either your manhood or womanhood. However now, the cult of fashion brands have enslaved modern society (especially women) to participate in their world or else they are unaccepted. Ugly and undesirable. Be that in dating or the workplace.
I want you to notice something here. I am not analyzing individual practices. I am approaching this deductively. Some women love it, others worship this practice and others simply trudge along. That's them. But the most objective explanation is the one I gave.
Thus, just like fallacy of relevance encourages men to join the army (for the lack of a better example), it also ropes in women into the idolization of their physical appearance.
The woman "does it for herself" (Sure, honey). So when a man that doesn't match her dillusional standards approaches her, as you said, she cackles. (Some men are also disrespectful so that's on them)
