CT scan(computed tomography) has more radiation exposure and could be used to diagnose different disease entities. The price depends on whether it is done with contrast or without. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)  uses magnetic mechanics rather than radiation so it is much safer and we prefer it in pregnant women and children. We cant ise it if there is any metal in the patuents body like prosthetic valves or internal bone fixation.
