If you want to learn the way the economy works you could learn economics but it doesn't apply in Ethiopia. You rarely make a good career out of economics. But when it comes to compute science and software the options are endless. The world is becoming more digital and those are the careers where there are endless opportunities. I would suggest to stick to those options instead of wasting your time in economics.
