Mar 09, 2023Q1 in a falling object system, the total energy(mechanical energy is conserved) so the amount of kinetic energy gained by this obect when falling must be equal to the amout of potential energy lost. Mgh +1/4 mgy= mgy So when you solve this you get h = 3/4 y

Mar 09, 2023the first question is not completed. the reason is this: A ball falling through any height will be subject to the law of conservation of energy, when the object is found at h, it has maximum potential energy(PE) which is equal to the total mechanic energy of the system(a.k.a Total energy), as it falls down, it gains kinetic energy because of it's movement at the expense of PE, thus an increase in KE is balanced with an equal decrease in PE. The question proposes that the object "gained" 1/4 of it's total energy(ME) during it's motion. This "gain" will cause an increase in velocity of the ball(newton's 1st law) because work must be done on it(F applied in the direction of motion), causing it to fall more rapidly. Now, this is not an isolated system as external force is applied on it, and the force is not conservative as it changes KE, thus the given info is not enough to compute it.
Mar 09, 2023I solved all of them but I couldn't send it photo from my notebook. It's not working. dm me @ko24be
Mar 08, 2023I will solve the rest one by one. And if you have any question or if it's unclear...Don't hesitate to ask me
