I can't exactly know his motive, but I'll tell you the most likely one. A relationship that has been existing for 2 years decreases in its adventure and it's primarily about consistency. You do almost everything as a couple. This is why moving in together or making a huge step is important at this stage because you have to open up chances at new experiences. The most likely explanation is that he is being fatigued from the lack of adventure. Note that this doesn't mean he hates you or stopped loving you. Take it as you're the reason he wakes up, but he needs a reason to get out of bed. I would recommend speaking with him on this.
