Jan 15, 2023Yea, I had the same question once and it is the main reason what led me to athiesm after my father's death, however, I am an orthodox christian now and understand why we suffer. My answer may not be satisfactory to you or may be u won't even see it regardless my take is that we suffer because we distance oursleves from him, the killings of people as u mentioned might not have happened if the fear and love of God had been installed in people because his teachings dictate to love one another ( 5th commandment: love thy neighbor like thou self) and we face obstacles in our life because without even knowing it we try to act like christ, we try to be good and loving but when we reject his teachings life becomes easier for 2 reasons 1 the devil is pleased 2 there is no restraint The first point might not appease u so in a logical way I will try to explain the second point. Everyone knows what it takes to be a noble, meaning we know what it takes to be a good person. For example to be good is to help others, to not lie, to share what u got even if it's small. However not so many people do those things thus so many people are not noble. A single household may have plenty of food and yet might not share it to starving children on the streets. I love my family and I would die for them any day, and a single man died for us because he loved us and died in the most painful way. if you love someone u sacrifice everything u got for them even your life. (For God didn't send his son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. ย ย ย ย John 3:17.) Like u said he might make everything easy for us but he also gave us free will that free will is the thing that determines weather u will suffer or not. U can choose to let go of ur morals and life will become much easier or choose the path of a noble which is a trechourous path filled with agony and pain. To be honest I won't say I am the kindest person I know, however, I try to do better everyday. The word christian means to be like christ and many '"christians" are not like christ. By being christian I am facing hardship day by day but I am over joyed and feel his love. Idk who u r and idk weather u r christian, Muslim, athiest, or agnostic but I hope whatever u r going through disappears and u be happy.
