If the surface is horizontal well it has an x component of zero and doesn't have a y component. You can calculate it R(x component)= /R/*cos@ R(y component)=/R/*sin @ If @ is the angle between the surface and the given angle

multiply that vector with sinx to get its vertical component and multiply it with cosx to find its horizontal component
