That is, before the college issues u an i-20, they ask u for bank letter to see if u can afford it. They want to see u can pay the tuition, food, insurance and accommodation for a single year. For most ppl this sums up to around $20,000(~1.3M birr). So, u can possibly ask ur friends and relatives to send u some money in ur bank account and then request ur bank to write u a letter. Once it’s done u can send them the money back. It’s unlikely u r asked a bank statement in the US embassy.
