Well the main reason is allegations of racial discrimination and torture towards oromo people by the Amahra people. But it is nothing more than an allegation. Let me explain 1. Amhara people just like any other Ethiopians are humble people, they would never do that just like any other Ethiopians. 2. Of course there have been injustices in the past, but it was led by totalitarian kings not the community, the people were just subjects of the king. 3. The claims of territorial invasion which is another reason is a silly one for me, because in the past territorial expansions were very common. If we look at it open mindedly, the oromo people expanded in the 16th century, Minelik expanded Ethiopia in the 20th/19th century, there is no such thing as settlers because we all are settlers, at some point in history this land was not ours. 4. This was obviously orchestrated first by Italians to achieve their ambition of ruling over Ethiopia since they know they can't do that when we are united. Second it was fueled by Egypt and Britain to ensure Egypt get full control of Nile while Ethiopia is in a political mess. Finally it was consolidated by TPLF, if there is a cold war between those two large ethnic groups it will be easy to maneuver the country in whatever direction you want. *If you do reply please be logical and if I have made any mistakes be polite when pointing them out*
