It's definitely not recommended but if it's already taken, you should know it doesn't mean everyone who takes a dose of diazepam ends up with congenital malformation, especially when it's the smallest dose for the shortest period; it will be less likely to form a risk compared to when it's taken for longer duration. Prenatal exposure to diazepam increases the risk of oral cleft, but the absolute risk increases by only 0.01 percent (from six to seven in 10,000 infants) & has risk of miscarriage of about 11% (source: ACOG & webmd)
