If u really care be honest about ur feelings and tell the truth as time goes by their feeling will get deeper nd am sure even if it takes time there will be a time they'll find out and that would be more hurtful. There's a big difference between love and pity(whether u call it 'care'). If u do really care just be a good friend who stays there when shit goes down
