Jun 08, 2022First of all, there's no such thing as failing on SAT. You get a grade out of 1600. The higher you score, the more chance you get a scholarship and admission to a great school. So for example, if u want to apply to an ivy school, say Harvard, u need to have atleast 1500 to be considered. BUT if u wanna apply to a community college in the middle of Illinois, u can get 900 and u would be good to go. You can take the SATs multiple times as long as you got the money to pay for it(Last time I checked it was $105). Most students take it 2-3 times and they choose their best score and send it to the university they wanna apply. Since u r in gr.10, u have time to take it as many times as u want. If u r applying to the US or any English courses in Europe/Asia, I would recommend taking an English proficiency test like TOEFL, IELTS or DUOLINGO. This helps you prove to them u know English. After you get your SAT and English proficiency scores, u collect all ur documents including high school transcript, grade 12 matrik, passport, any club participation(this really helps for scholarship) and go to a website called COMMON APP. This is where u apply to colleges in the US. After this, most of the times colleges charge application fees ranging from $20-$150. HOWEVER, u can tell your school counselor to fill in a waiver that automatically lets u apply to 20 colleges for FREE.
