Well there's history that tells z Ethiopian territory reached z middle East.. accordingly we would have some mix, even amharic n arabic have similarities eko .... I think z territory also spanned to inner Africa, not to mention our similarities with our neighbours. DO WE HAVE TO PICK A SIDE???

Why does it matter? If each and every one of us get our DNAs tested we'd probably find out that we're mixed with parts of the world we don't even know about. We're human beings. We're all the same blood. Stop with all the racial dissections that ultimately lead to the fading of humanity and the growth of discrimination among human beings. So what if we're mixed with Arabs? How does that change anything? Really think about it.

the term "black" is used to refer black americans (as a race) and not africans especially not ethiopians most of the time. you don't usually see ethiopians refer to another ethiopian "black" rather they may refer "amara", "oromo"... a lot of Ethiopians claim they're black (which they're if we're talking about their skin color but that's not the case here) but i think we may share the same skin color but not the same history. our ancestors never went through slavery.

This is actually a serious answer EINSTEIN once said "nationalism is an infantile disease. Its the measles of mankind" It is practiced by those who can't stand up for themselves as an individual by those who can't be proud of themselves and by those who have nothing to be proud of as an individual this route has been taken to commit unfathomable counts of genocide and masskillings in the name of a better race not better individual but better race. Well we have Arab roots that's a fact most of our features don't even look like most Africans. I consider my self habesha than black. I know we have brownish color or different shades of black but what most ppl call black are the negro race (ስድብ አይደለም). We're black in color yes but we can't be fully categorized under the negro race we're only 60% African the other 40% is Arab or European

Ive been dwelling on this topic for a while now and most people i encounter believe their Habeshans and not Black, which to me sounds pretty retarted because the reasoning behind it makes no absolute sense at all. Black is a person with a dark complexion we as far as i see it are dark skined, Habesha could be used as a term to classify our heritage and lighter colour (compared to most African ciuntries) but it does not mean we are not black. If we were to go to a western country we are considered Black, we are Africans and we should not try to remove ourselfs from other Africans.

As much as i know the north(amhara,tigray,eriterans) are basically a mix of agew and some habesha race from middle east....there are agews in tigray,amhara,Eritrea and some habesha tribes from middle east come and mix with the agews and this 3 identities get created.....if you see closely the 3 northerns have have distinct culture differnet from other ethiopians....like their clothing,hair style etc...

We are black but we are mixed too. Eastern Africans look different than the typical africans because of our interactions with Middle Eastern people I mean yemeni people and some ethiopians look so much alike and you can actually google this question and go to quora and get a more clear answer based on DNA of different ethinicites of ethiopians like the amhara ,Gurage and tigrai people actually share some similarities with the yemeni people

Yes we are black, but it's an undeniable fact that we have somehow a mixed background. Specially towards the northern side of Ethiopia the people there were mixed with Arabians some thousands of years ago. This is stated even in our own history books. But that doesn't mean we are not black. We are black 101.
