This is my opinion on the matter. Everyone has sex. Whether it's Americans, Europeans or Ethiopians. The fact that our society sees sex as a taboo does not lead to youngsters abstaining from sex. It doesn't keep teens from having sex before marriage. You could raise your kid in a society that tells them sex is bad but chances are they'd do it anyway. The way I see it endewim making it a taboo is worse. If they're gonna do it anyway, shouldn't it be better if they can talk openly about it? If parents can warn them about STDs and unwanted pregnancies? If it's openly discussed so people can be aware of everything? Ezi anything related to sex is a taboo, you can't discuss it in any way. And yet, we're one of the most HIV infested countries in the world. And don't even get me started on other STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Our society is obsessed with sex and we have the highest number of porn watchers in the world. So tell me, is the fact that our society made sex a taboo actually keeping people from having sex? No. It's making them do it in hiding, opening the way to the risks and dangers they weren't even aware of. Americans are normalizing their kids having sex because they know that even if they tell them "don't have sex!", chances are they're gonna do it anyway. But atleast it's better if they know everything there is to it and keep safe.
