Okay I am gonna be real here. I am a guy and I can very very honestly tell you that guys do feel intimidated if their female friends of partners are even as smart as them let alone smarter. And this applies for, say 96% of guys if not all. I have had many friends backing out of a potential relationship just for this sole reason. And it has nothing to do with being an ass hole or anything it is just how we were raised to be and it might as well have to do with natural instincts claiming that men do need to be unparalleled by women in almost anything. And no offensive but we Ethiopians are really not as civilized as we think we are malet liberal thoughts claiming that girls are as smart as boys and stuff is really not accepted although everyone claims to having accepted them. I know this because I just joined med school and every girl here is just as smart as me if not smarter and at the start I really used to be intimidated until I figured out a way to deal with it. So here is what I like to do. When a girl starts talking about something I am not familiar with I just focus on listening to what she has to say about it and the tell her that I am not familiar with it and I would go home read about it try and understand as much as possible about the thing and then go the next day and share my opinion. And believe it or not just because I do this and I am open to accepting the fact that I don't know everything and am willing to learn about it makes them believe that I am smart all the while building my confidence 😁😁🤷‍♂🤷‍♂ this is very likely unnecessarily long gn it kinda felt like something I related to and needed to share my opinion.🤦‍♂
