This is my understanding .... Africa is suitable for living so back then people didn't do much work like they sit around and Hunt minamn basically they were comfortable with what they have so there is no need to be smart or innovative, meanwhile in Europe the environment is not that good to live, so they need to think a way to survive and be smart about their decisions ...and I suppose that's how they become aware of their surrounding and start to look for more suitable environments. they started discovering other continents. by that time they have already established their home land so basically what they need is raw materials (after a while it become a power thing tho). Then they started colonising countries for their resources. And for us Ethiopians; I don't think we were smart at all (talking about the general population). It's pure bravery and we outnumbered the Italian army To summarize , we were comfortable with what nature gave us they were not. That's how I see it 💁‍♂

Exactly, the current markup of Africa didnt exists until after colonization. The colonizers used different tactics but the major ones were military power and playing them against each other. They'll support different tribes against each other, give them a lil bit of arms, agitate for a full scale war against each other, most of the able fighters will die off in said war -- on both sides -- and then they swoop in and colonize those very same tribes that just fought a bloody and costly war against each other. We weren't colonized not cause we were smart but cause we out numbered the Italian Army, their was 10,000 Italian soldiers but in other hand we were 100,000 thousand, by the end 20,000 from our side died. What we can see from this is the other countries in Africa got colonized not b/c of only weak governance but mostly they weren't sociable that much as they are now. so by the time the white folks came they didn't had a shot to win against thousands of trained soldiers

Guns And Africans were hugely divided back then so if the british attacked their neighbor they didn't really care so it was easy for colonisers to do what they wanted . I actually support the colonisation of african countries countless people may have died but at least it paved the way for modernization. I just wish Ethiopia is colonised by China in the future even though it will likely never happen. We will work our fucking asses of and become rich.

Africans were not even close to Europeans at that moment. The Europeans had superb military power. They also had brilliant strategic ways of doing things. Africans were simply not good enough. Ofc Ethiopia is an exception.
