In Islam it is encouraged to marry only one but yeah it’s allowed for Muslim men to marry only up to 4 (and I’m saying only up to 4 because dero men used to marry without limit particularly in Arabia and islam put a limit to that and told the Muslim men to marry only up to 4) and that’s with conditions too, and some of the wisdoms for men marrying more than one wife is for example dero men used to get killed in battles and wars and women were usually stay at home wives/mothers and their main sources of income were men and when their husbands die and if they don’t have a father, who would take care of them? So another man can marry them and take her in so that he can provide, love and care for her, another example is that dero thé more children you have the more source of income and also more ppl to help you in farming and being a merchant so marrying more would help the family in such a way and also it would help build a civilization, oh and also the other example yk how our Ethiopian sisters are forced to go to foreign countries(Arab countries) to work because they don’t have a brother that would do that and they are being taken advantage off and if they had brothers that would provide for the family, our Ethiopian sisters wouldn’t have to worry about going to foreign countries to bring food to the table for their families and just to make it clear I’m not saying these are the exact reasons it’s allowed to marry more than one, im just stating some of the benefits to it) plus let’s not forget that Islam is literally the only religion that tells the men to marry only one(if they can’t do justice), I mean it’s okay in other religions too like Judaism and Christianity
