Hi there. I completely understand what you mean. I felt similarly throughout most of university. The thing is, you can't wait on teachers or the department to give you the skills or knowledge you want. Luckily if you have a PC, some internet access and patience you can do ANYTHING software! We usually think we need motivation to work on a goal, or motivation to find a goal. This might be hard but - Try to find a goal first. Motivation will follow. Write down your goal, break it down as much as possible. Work on something small to start. It's okay - take small steps. Don't pick a huge goal (This is *usually* setting yourself up for guilt or failure). Instead pick something smaller and make sure you complete it. About finding the thing you're most interested in... I am finding that most of the skills you learn in one programming language can easily transfer to another one. The essential thing is that you are getting better at thinking and solving problems. I think picking one programming language and learning a lot by using it helps. When or If you want to work using another tech you won't feel too stressed, because you already know how to think... now you just need to find the small differences in the tech. Some thing I wish someone told me early in Uni is that deploying your projects online is incredibly easy and free. If you haven't, I HIGHLY advise you to check out netlify, vercel, heroku, github... I don't know what technology you work with, but whatever it is you can put your work on the internet.
