Where/whom can I sell my business idea ? Anyone who knows help me out π
Jun 28, 2020People here telling you, that you can sell JUST your idea are wrong who don't understand investors(angel investors)....i learned that the hard way(10 months wasted).... Investors need "Proof of Work" which means something that will show them you are the real deal and not just every little shit who says they have an idea. A business idea is either a "Service" or a "Product" so you have to create a prototype of that idea. Creating a prototype will not be easy so you need a team with different talents like if its tech an engineer, developer/coder and business sector person who will write your business plan, do market analysis and do your financial requirements & projection to start the business on excel, generally the teams skill is determined based on the sector u guys want to work on. So, when you and your team are done you can send your "Business Plan" + "Prototype"(in video if its hardware(Brick and Mortar Model) or if software based a link or apk) to investors like #AAA (info@addisababaangels.com) or incubations and accelerators like blueMoon Ethiopia, iceAddis, xhub, ICOG's SolveIt, Kudu venture... then they will give you seed funding to finalize your "Product" or "Service" by selling your 100% equity in the company to them. Since its a seed funding they might ask up to 30% for software based or more for Hardware(Brick and Mortar Model) based business. Then with the seed funding you will have your final business product/service done. And then for deployment/starting if u need more cash....u will need to go to another investor or the themselves again and sell more of your shares for a series A investment. Don't forget u need to always have very specific plans when pitching to investors for cash and u will need to show them in what time frame u will be able to return there investment on u and how scaleable the business is. Investors are more concerned with the team than the idea so learn about concepts like Team, Problem & Vision, Value Proposition, Product, Market, Business Model, Scale, Exit... Investors are obsessed with the following 3 mostly TEAM, SCALE & EXIT. This are stuff Business plan's might contain, if it gets confusing, use templates online: 1. Executive Summary 2. Company Description 3. Industry Analysis 4. Product or Service Description 5. Market Analysis 6. Economics of the business/break-even point 7. Marketing Plan 8. Operations Plan 9. Risk Management 10. Company Structure 11. Roadmap Schedule 12. Financial Projection
