My father has been diagnosed with schizophrenia which is a really rare case on old people he doesn't take any food and he is not willing to take the medications if anyone has had an experience with such scenario please help me out what shall I do he doesn't trust anyone in the house which is creating a really hard situation for us

Mar 02, 2021The thing is with schizophrenia they have delusions(false fixed belief abt sthg) n there r different types of delusions.Persecutory delusion,Delusion of grandeur,Delusional jealousy...from what u told me ur father seems to have persectory delusion w|c is a false fixed belife that someone is trying to hurt him...when u guys try to give him food or his meds he thinks u r tryin to poison him....Its one of the disease symptoms... so unless u get him to the hospital n admitted to psych ward he'll just keep getting worse. N its a very treatable disease.. u just need to get him help n be supportive...he's nt doing it on purpose its just the disease. Good luck.
