They are both opponents and allies. When it comes to power they are opponents. Both have plans destroy this nation and make their region an independent country. Tplf wants a tigray state and pp wants oromia state. Tplf is very clear about is but prosperity is just waiting till they got the right time. But the major problem for their plan is the innocents who are willingly sacrifice their life to keep this nation as a country. They see these ppl, mostly the Amharan, as a trait. So here they are allies to attack these ppl. Even though the battle seems between these two, it is not. Abiy would have destroyed tplf before they even reach wollo but he want to take advantage of the stituation. As you can hear it is the oridinary ppls who are fighting at the moment with some military force. There is tplf in wollo, olf in the middle to control shewa including the capital, and Abiys force can go anywhere. I mean you can imagin how amhara is surrounded by enemies and it is difficult for it to defend at all sides. This why Abiy let Tplf go as long as wollo so that more power n focus shift to wollo and the central shewa can be attacked by olf or even by his own force who knows. it is such a complicated thing to explain.
