Is it only me that fears technology like e-commerce sites could soon devastate trade in Ethiopia and many could lose their jobs ?

Losing jobs is inevitable as the world gets more advanced in so many aspects. The only way to combat this is by upgrading your current capabilities. Just take a look at south Africa. An ecommerce site has come into play by providing you with the ability to have your groceries ordered and delivered online. What smart shops did, is collaborate with them for mutual benefit 🤷‍♂.

those who can adapt to the changes are gonna survive. they just have to uploade their inventory onto the internet.

Don't worry physical shopping is not going anywhere let alone in a starting e-commerce industry. Check out this research finding.

Unless you are on the developer side for those technologies like me, It's inevitable but will not probably be here for 5 or 10 years. I guess start developing other skills.

I can assure you that this will happen in no time for the upcoming 5 years. I guess their way of surviving will be adopting to the change like make a deal with those companies, use online payment systems since they will be popular. Consider how shops in developed countries adopt technology for their own benefit. The only thing that will destroy their market is if they resist to adapt.
