Hello everyone I have a lump on my left breast and when i went to the doctors they told me it was fibroadenoma, and that it was non cancerous n that i shouldn't worry about it, the lump hurts and its about half a year since i had it.. So my question is when will it go away n when will it stop hurting? Medical students kalachu help a sister out Thanks in advance

May 18, 2020Hello, I'm a medical student. Mostly Fibroadenoma do not cause any complication. If it's not increasing in size, it's recommended to left it as it is and watch for any changes. One third of fibroadenomas will shrink or disappear by themselves , especially during menopause. But u can't know if z size is increasing just by touching so u should have regular follow up to clinic, and have an ultrasound. Surgery is usually not recommended because it leaves a scar which make future imaging tests hard to read. If the pain is too much and z lump is discomforting, u can get it removed by simple surgery.

May 19, 2020Ok the chance of regressing is 20% chance of growing 20% chance of being same is 60%.......and u didnt say about how much is it if it is big and if it is bothering you very much it should be removed surgicaly it very simple surgery it take 10min...about going away it is not well.stated but if it is decreasing min 5 years it can take morethan that
